SUMMARY:Decarbonising Energy Use in European Buildings
DESCRIPTION:RES4BUILD is pleased to announce an in-person workshop on Wednesday 29 March 2023 in Brussels\, Belgium. The event\, titled “Decarbonising Energy Use in European Buildings: technical\, financial and social drivers and barriers”\, will take place from 10:00-15:00.  \n\n\n\nBuildings account for more than 40% of the final energy consumption in Europe\, most of which is still supplied by fossil fuels. Phasing out fossil fuel use in buildings can help address many of Europe’s most pressing challenges including climate change\, air pollution and dependency on imported fuels. \n\n\n\nHowever\, achieving this future requires the rapid upscaling of impactful\, energy-efficient solutions. Feasible solutions addressing the technological\, market and social aspects of the challenge exist\, such as those developed during the RES4BUILD project\, but much more needs to be done. \n\n\n\nThe workshop on 29 March 2023 in Brussels will bring together research\, industry\, policymakers\, and end users to help identify the developments and conditions that are needed to accelerate this decarbonisation and meet EU policy objectives. DESCRIPTION:HYDRO 2023 NEW IDEAS FOR PROVEN RESOURCES \n\n\n\nEdinburgh International Congress Centre (EICC)\, Edinburgh\, Scotland \n\n\n\nAs always\, the main aim of bringing together the global hydropower community is to exchange practical experience\, learn of new technical developments (of which there are plenty)\, encourage best practice\, and together play a role in advancing hydro development in the parts of the world that need it most.Besides new schemes\, emphasis is also placed on maximizing the value of existing hydro assets\, by timely refurbishment\, upgrading and improving operational efficiency. These annual events are probably the most truly international conferences devoted specifically to hydropower\, and\, normally we welcome at least 1200 delegates from more than 70 countries. We will focus on potential and development plans\, the changing roles of hydropower\, adapting to new challenges\, ensuring safety and operational efficiency\, and environmental protection\, among many other topics. A major technical exhibition will run alongside the conference\, showcasing the state-of-the-art of hydro technology and engineering\, with many products and services on display. We encourage young engineers and students to attend\, and student registration rates will be available on request. The AMI Hydropower Foundation will consider assisting some delegates from less developed countries\, or those facing economic challenges\, to attend\, by supporting registration and accommodation costs. SUMMARY:ARE Energy Access Investment Forum 2026
DESCRIPTION:The ARE Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF) is the top annual investment event\, fostering partnerships for the purpose of renewable electrification\, including energy access\, productive use\, commercial & industrial uses of power and the green energy transition. \n\n\n\nWith a track-record since 2016\, ARE aims to mobilise 500 people in-person and over 1\,000 people virtually for a total of more than 1\,500 participants. The Forum will have interpretation in French and English. \n\n\n\nEAIF 2026 is organised by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE)\, and co-hosted by the European Union through its Global Gateway strategy. The Forum is supported by GET.invest\, a leading European programme that mobilises investment in clean energy\, co-funded by the European Union\, Germany\, Norway\, the Netherlands\, Sweden and Austria. \n\n\n\nWith the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Kenya\, this special EAIF edition will bring together private and public investors\, industry leaders from both the energy and related sectors\, utilities and government officials\, for an exclusive EAIF experience.
