EREF would like to issue both a retraction and an apology concerning 1st April’s political
declaration.
We just received word that the European Commission explicitly did not sign the political
declaration on Sustainable and Smart Gas Infrastructure due to, as we have been informed by the
Commission, the rationale detailed in our press release below and other reasons.
EREF was misinformed by its sources in Bucharest and would like to formally apologise for
spreading misinformation.
EREF congratulates the European Commission in its decision and encourages it to undertake the
upcoming discussions on the Gas Package with same mindset and tenacity.
