At its General Assembly held at the EUREF-Campus Berlin, EREF elected Prof. Dr. Dörte
Fouquet as its new President. Having served EREF’s Secretariat as Director for many
years, Prof. Dr. Fouquet brings invaluable expertise in European energy and climate
policy and a clear vision for achieving a fully renewables-based European energy
system. The General Assembly thanked outgoing President Martin Bursík warmly for
four years of outstanding leadership and dedication to the renewable energy cause.
The General Assembly elected and re-elected the following Board Members,
comprising renowned renewable energy experts and representatives from EREF’s
national member associations from across EU Member States:
Martin Bursík (OZE, Czech Republic), Björn Spiegel (BWE, Germany), Brigitte Reitter
(BDW, Germany), Ghislain Weisrock (FHE, France), Julia Münch (Fachverband Biogas,
Germany), Quintus von Roedern (BWE, Germany), Mats Weinesson (SERO, Sweden),
Morten Petersen (Victor Energy, Denmark), Nigel Cotton, Paul Ablinger (KWÖ, Austria),
Florian Maringer (IG Windkraft, Austria), Pedro Amaral Jorge (APREN, Portugal), Rainer
Hinrichs-Rahlwes (BEE, Germany), Savvas Seimanidis (GAREP, Greece), Simone Peter
(Germany), Stefan Hantsch (IG Windkraft, Austria), Wolfram Malzfeldt (BDW, Germany),
Wiebe Beekman (NVDE, Netherlands), Ewa Krasuska (PIGEOR, Poland), Gustaf
Hellström (SVAF, Sweden). Robert Lange will join EREF’s Advisory Board from
September 2026.
Congratulations were extended by the Presidents of BEE and BWE, underlining how
important strong representation of independent renewable energy producers in
Brussels remains against the backdrop of today’s geopolitical challenges and the
crucial legislative work for renewable energy ahead.
The message from the new Board is clear: ensure the full and timely implementation
of adopted renewable energy frameworks, and maintain ambitious, binding renewable
energy targets for the period after 2030. With a new and strong Board, EREF remains
an established and trusted partner to EU institutions and looks forward to continuing
its cooperation and support to the European Commission and co-legislators in the
European Parliament in pursuit of a fully renewables-based energy system in Europe.
