The XV Polish Hydropower Conference – HYDROFORUM 2026 will take place on 21–23 October 2026 in Augustów, Poland, bringing together representatives of the hydropower sector, public administration, research institutions and industry from across Europe. The event is jointly organised by the Polish Hydropower Association (TEW), the Polish Association for Small Hydropower Development (TRMEW) and the Szewalski Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The conference programme will cover the latest developments in hydropower, including energy policy, sector strategy, legal and economic challenges, new projects, environmental aspects, operation and maintenance of hydropower plants, as well as research and innovation. A highlight of the event will be the HYDROFORUM Debate, featuring representatives of government institutions, industry experts and the scientific community.
This year’s conference will also include a technical study visit to the Kruonis Pumped Storage Power Plant in Lithuania, currently undergoing a major modernisation with the addition of a variable-speed generating unit. Participants will have the opportunity to explore one of the Baltic region’s most important energy storage facilities and visit the historic city of Kaunas.
As in previous editions, HYDROFORUM 2026 will provide an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, networking and discussions on the future of hydropower in Poland and Europe. The conference will be held in Polish and English with simultaneous interpretation.
