The removal of hydropower plants with an installed capacity of less than 501 kW from the EEG 2023 funding regime cannot be justified from any objective point of view. It is an intolerable deterioration for hydropower, which not only has the potential to prevent the construction of new plants and the necessary modernization of existing plants, but also to endanger the entire stock of plants in the short to medium term.
